(Show Products):
From May 14 to 16, 2024, CWIEME Berlin welcomed thousands of visitors and exhibitors to Messe Berlin, with a footfall across the three days of 7,512 visitors to the leading exhibition for the electrical manufacturing industry.
Visitors from over 80 countries were also treated to over 25 hours of content across CWIEME’s central and e-mobility stages. This year, the central stage was sponsored by Shell and included speakers from Siemens, thyssenkrupp, Bosch, Hitatchi and Toyota. On the e-mobility stage, there were talks from Ford, McKinsey & Company, S&P Global and many more.
The stages housed several panel discussions across the three days, which were very well-attended. On day one, representatives from Siemens, the International Copper Association, thyssenkrupp and Shell discussed strategies and sustainable practices in the steel, copper and oil industry. With every seat taken, visitors gathered around the stage to learn more about this topic from the industry experts.
On day two, focus moved to diversity as part of the Women in Engineering initiative — a key theme for the 2024 show — with a session involving speakers from Syensqo, Shell, Cargill and WoMen4metals, who explored how businesses can encourage a more diverse workforce. The session, which was moderated by Keitlin Vandemark from Hitatchi Energy, followed a networking session for attendees.
On day three, CWIEME Berlin’s focus was on the Future Engineers programme. This is where the exhibition welcomed many students who participated in mentoring sessions, talks about key trends predictions for the future and a panel discussion exploring career opportunities in the sector.
Despite such a packed agenda, there was still time for attendees to relax. With temperatures hitting 26 degrees Celsius across the three days, visitors appreciated the beer gardens and a range of food vendors, which were situated between the five halls.
“As first time exhibitors, Bosch has an extremely positive first impression of CWIEME Berlin,” commented Francis van der Sluis, Senior Engineer at Bosch, one of this year’s exhibitors. “We’ve met all kinds of people from several areas of the industry, including suppliers, competitors – which is vital in giving us an understanding of what is happening elsewhere – but most importantly, potential customers.”
“We’re thrilled to have received such positive feedback from CWIEME Berlin attendees,” explained Patrick Hyslop, Event Director. “This year, we’ve had more speakers than ever before and a higher level of diversity amongst our exhibitors — representing over 50 countries — especially with the addition of our country pavilions for India, Latvia and the Czech Republic.
“When walking the halls, the spirit of collaboration, creativity and community amongst our attendees was clear. There’s such a huge amount of opportunity in our sector, with companies working towards their sustainability goals and with the rise of electric vehicles. The level of innovation is staggering and we feel honoured to have showcased so much of this at CWIEME.”
After a busy few days in Berlin, the CWIEME team don’t have long to relax. CWIEME Shanghai opens its doors at the SWEECC on June 26 to 28, 2024. And, with a huge amount of exhibitors rebooking for CWIEME Berlin 2025, the team are already planning for next year to ensure the show continues to be the leading event for the coil winding, transformer, generator, electric motor manufacturing, and e-mobility sectors worldwide.
