美国国际电子元器件交易展览会（ELECTRonICS DISTRIBUTION SHOW AND ConFERENCE – EDS /Electronics Industry Connects Show，或美国国际电子产品订货会及研讨会）是美国及北美最大的电子元器件专业贸易交易展览及会议，EDS也是领先的峰会，一年一届，在拉斯维加斯Mirage举行。由美国电子元器件、组件及材料协会(Electronic Components, Assemblies and Materials Association)、电子产品代理商协会(Electronics Representatives Association)及电子产品分销商协会(National Electronic Distributors Association)共同举办。展览会的形式以电子产品专业订货会为主，同时专题研讨会及新技术产品展示等。主要来自北美电子产品制造商、供应商、代理商、分销商、采购商等参加展览会，仅限专业人士参观。

美国是电子产品进口和出口大国，具有广阔的市场潜力。美国的进口电子元器件、零部件、电子材料及相关产品的贸易金额每年高达数百亿美元，占全球市场的1/4。同时，美国又是技术出口大国，资金输出大国。为了加强与美国的经济技术合作，其它国家的电子产品对美国及北美甚至整个美洲区域的进出口，以及引进新技术、新产品，参加EDS展是最佳的选择，同时可了解美国电子市场，结识和联系北美各地分销商，寻找代理商、宣传企业、扩大影响的最佳途径。

The EDS Board thanks every­one who took the time to respond to the sur­vey regard­ing EDS 2022. Your input is reviewed by the Board to learn how it may improve your busi­ness expe­ri­ence at the only indus­try event that brings togeth­er man­u­fac­tur­ers and their dis­trib­u­tors and rep firms for face-to-face meet­ings. In par­tic­u­lar, the Board looks at the remarks made in the com­ment sec­tion. Such com­ments can be use­ful in clar­i­fy­ing ques­tions that some atten­dees may have about EDS. Below are some of the more com­mon ques­tions and the Board’s response.

Why is EDS always held in Vegas rather than oth­er cities?

The pri­ma­ry rea­son is that Vegas is the only city that has hotels with suf­fi­cient num­ber of suites and meet­ing rooms to meet EDS’ spec­i­fi­ca­tions. The typ­i­cal con­fer­ence hotel in major U.S. cities has a lim­it­ed num­ber of suites and meet­ing rooms. Even in Vegas, there are only a lim­it­ed num­ber of hotels that have the req­ui­site num­ber of suites and are will­ing to sell those suites to EDS. The oth­er fac­tor is num­ber of meet­ing rooms in a hotel. In oth­er cities EDS would need to book mul­ti­ple hotels or part of a con­ven­tion cen­ter to get suf­fi­cient meet­ing room space.

There are some resort hotels, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the Orlan­do area, that have an ade­quate num­ber of suites. How­ev­er, these prop­er­ties are more fam­i­ly-ori­ent­ed and are iso­lat­ed from restau­rants, enter­tain­ment and the airport.

Oth­er con­ven­tion cities, such as Chica­go and New York, are vast­ly more expen­sive and lack the num­ber of suites needed.
